Privacy Policy
Effective October 15, 2026
ClearScan is built to work entirely on your iPhone. We do not collect, store, sell or share any of your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the app does not connect to the internet.
Your documents
Scans, imported files and the text recognized in them are stored only in ClearScan's private storage on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere by ClearScan. Like other app data, they may be included in your device backups (iCloud or computer backups) if you have backups turned on; that is controlled by your iPhone settings, not by ClearScan.
Deleting a document in ClearScan deletes its files from the device. Deleting the app removes all of its documents.
Camera and photos
The camera is used only while you scan, to find the page and take the picture. Images are processed on the device. When you import from Photos, ClearScan receives only the pictures you select, using the system picker.
Text recognition
Text in your scans is recognized with Apple's on-device Vision technology. No text or images are sent to any server.
Face ID lock
If you turn on the app lock, iOS checks your Face ID, Touch ID or passcode. ClearScan only learns whether the check succeeded; it never has access to your biometric data.
Sharing
Documents leave your iPhone only when you choose to share or save them (for example with the Share sheet or Save to Files). From then on, the app or service you share with handles them under its own privacy policy.
Children
ClearScan does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
